We have been writing festival history since 1953…
… which makes us Luxembourg’s oldest festival. We are certainly not resting on our laurels, but are constantly bringing cultural diversity to life. The Festival de Wiltz has established itself as a cosmopolitan brand: Sophisticated theatre and operetta premieres as well as major artists from pop and jazz culture find their venue here, as do avant-garde art formats and national cross-productions that appeal to an intimate setting and appreciate having the Festival de Wiltz at their side as a collaborative partner. In addition to the breathtaking main setting at Wiltz Castle, new locations are constantly being identified for the festival, which also attract new audiences. Wiltz therefore remains a place of encounters and discoveries – and is always worth a visit. Would you have known? The picturesque little town in the north of Luxembourg has long since managed to attract legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Melody Gardot, Passenger and Morcheeba. This is how every festival summer goes down in the history of music in the Grand Duchy.
