SHAI MAESTRO QUARTET
Shai Maestro (b. 1987) is one of the leading voices in contemporary jazz piano, known for a uniquely lyrical sound combined with cutting-edge rhythmic imagination, sophisticated odd-meter writing, and a deep sense of narrative in improvisation.
Based in Spain after ten formative years in New York City, he has built a wide-ranging international career as a pianist, composer and bandleader.
At the Festival de Wiltz, Shai Maestro (piano & electronics) will present his new album, The Guesthouse, as part of a quartet featuring Matteo Bortone (double bass), Francesco Ciglione (drums) and Nitzan Bar (guitar). A fascinating evening blending lyrical depth with a rhythmic spirit of adventure.
JEFF HERR
CORPORATION
After an artistic hiatus, the Jeff Herr Corporation is back with renewed energy, driven by a brand new line-up. Alongside drummer and leader Jeff Herr, this trio brings together two major figures in Luxembourgish and European jazz: Maxime Bender on saxophone and Pol Belardi on electric bass and synthesizers.
With this configuration, the group pushes the boundaries of jazz by combining improvisation, electronic textures and powerful grooves. More modern and daring, the interaction between the musicians creates a space for free expression, where lyrical flights of fancy, deep bass lines and organic, energetic drumming intersect.
Inspired by contemporary jazz and electro-jazz, this new direction heralds an electrifying return to the stage and a new album scheduled for release in 2026. The programme was developed during a residency at Neumünster Abbey (2024–2025), marking a sound exploration incorporating electronic elements.
This summer, the amphitheater transforms into a unique setting. Selected concerts are presented in a Close-Up format – bringing the audience closer to the artists than ever before.
